The Hot Shots game that all PS4 owners have been waiting for is here and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Did I say ‘Hot Shot’s?’ Yes, I did and the main reason is that here in the United States we have only know it to be Hot Shots. The change in name does not mean a change in the game. It’s every thing we remember in a Hot Shots game but with new features added. Aesthetically the game is beautiful and the light-hearted feeling of the game lends itself to players of all ages.
The main feature of the game used to be challenges against opponents whether it be stroke play or match play. Players would battle their ways through the ranks to reach each un-lockable character. With this iteration of the game there is the option to explore each course. Each course is divided into the front and back nine with each course having an open world feel with places to explore. Each nine has a set of coins, balls, gems, and clothing items to find. The set of collectibles is only available for 24 hours and then the server refreshes to give you more to find. The open world in this game makes it so you want to come back to it. Even if you don’t feel like playing a round of golf it’s fun to just drive around in your golf cart or go catch some fish.
The best part of this game is that it is a golf game first and the other activities are just a bonus. The core gameplay is fun and different every time. Wind is varied throughout the course and can change from round to round, making some shots impossible. The size of the hole/cup may be changed depending on your play style. Carefree players who aren’t serious can set the hole to be ‘Mega’ or ‘Twister’ with the mega cup being much larger and then the twister’ pulling your ball into the hole when getting close.
This is a game that will provide countless hours of entertainment for all ages.
